STEEL CHALLENGE

Steel Challenge matches are family friendly and, unlike many shooting sports, entertaining for spectators. Speed is everything.

However, that doesn't mean that it is for advanced shooters only. The steel match is one of the best ways to introduce new shooters to the fun of shooting sports. There is little movement involved and it can be shot with rimfire pistols or rifles. As long as the shooter understands and follows the four rules of gun safety, they can join us. Hopefully, they'll find it as addictively fun as the rest of us do.

Steel Challenge matches at Central Alabama Gun Club are held on the second Saturdays of the month each. The cost of each match is $10 per shooter.  Set-up begins at 8:00 a.m. CDT. Coming out to help set-up is a great way to familiarize yourself with the stages and meet people. It gives us a chance to talk "shop" as we work. A shooters meeting is held at 9:45 a.m. and shooting begins at 10:00 a.m. CDT. We generally shoot five to six stages each month. Register at Practiscore or Saturday morning.

Four Rules of Safe Gun Handling
